AI Workout Plan Generator: A Program Built Around You, Not a PDF

Plenty of AI tools will spit out a workout plan. Almost none of them can tell whether you did it. Hughie generates your program and then counts the reps — which is the difference between a plan and progress.

What Hughie's AI program builder asks — and why

Generic plans fail because they're built for an imaginary average person. Hughie's AI builds yours from three inputs: your goal (build strength, get consistent, improve conditioning), your experience level (which decides whether you start with knee push-ups or wide push-ups), and — as you train — your actual workout history. The output is a structured program with target sets and reps for each session, built from exercises Hughie can verify with the camera.

Your first AI-generated program is free to try. The AI builder itself is a Hughie Pro feature — Pro unlocks unlimited program generation, plus Chat with Hughie (a conversational agent that gives training advice, remembers your history, and proposes a new program when you ask for one) and AI post-workout reviews.

Built on published exercise science

Program structure isn't improvised: circuit format, exercise count (8–12 for a full session), and session lengths follow published ACSM guidance, rest periods are adapted from NSCA circuit-recovery guidance for the lighter loads of bodyweight training, and exercises are ordered so no muscle group works twice in a row. Sessions are capped by level — 30 minutes for beginners, 45 intermediate, 60 advanced — rather than padded with rest to hit a number. The sources are linked in-app under Settings → The Science.

From generated plan to finished workout

  1. Generate your program. Answer the goal and experience questions; the AI assembles your weekly structure.
  2. Open today's session. Your exercises, rounds, and rep goals are laid out — no deciding what to do while standing in your living room.
  3. Train with live tracking. Run the program in live mode and it auto-advances — hit the rep goal and it flows into the transition, then the next movement, hands-free. And if a goal is too ambitious today, you can enter what you did or skip ahead; the program keeps moving with you.
  4. Let the plan learn. Completed sessions feed your history, and on Pro every new program is generated with that history taken into account, alongside your goal and level.
The accountability loop: because your plan and your tracking live in the same app, "did I actually follow the program?" stops being a matter of opinion. Your history shows prescribed vs. performed, set by set.

Prefer to build your own? That's free too

If you already know what you want to run, Hughie's manual program builder lets you construct your own structured plans with target sets and reps — and circuit workouts chain exercises into continuous tracked sessions. The AI is there when you want a program built for you; it never gets in the way when you don't.

AI workout plan FAQ

Is the AI workout plan really free?

Your first AI-generated program is free to try, no subscription needed. The AI builder itself — unlimited generation, AI chat coaching, and post-workout summaries — is a Pro feature.

What kind of exercises are in the plans?

Bodyweight movements drawn from Hughie's 15-exercise live-tracked library — push-up and squat variants, side lunges, split squats, high knees, planks, side bends, wall sits, and more — organized by difficulty tier, so the plan matches your level and stays verifiable.

Can the plan adapt as I improve?

On Pro, every program is generated from your goal, your experience level, and your accumulated workout history — so what you've actually been doing shapes what it builds next.
