How it works
Prop your phone. Start moving. That's it.
No wearables to charge, no sensors to strap on. Hughie's pose detection counts reps the moment you complete them — and a circuit program in live mode advances through every exercise and round on its own. Program structure follows published ACSM guidance for circuit format, exercise count, and session length, with rest periods adapted from NSCA circuit-recovery guidance for bodyweight training.
Prop up your phone
Prop your phone upright against a wall or water bottle so the front camera can see your whole body — the app shows you when you're in frame. A living room, bedroom, or hotel room is plenty of space.
Pick an exercise and go
Choose from 15 movements across Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced — squats, push-ups, high knees, side bends, wall sits, and more. On-device AI counts each rep out loud while voice encouragement cheers you on. Run sets your way, or start a circuit program in live mode and it advances through every exercise and round on its own.
Earn coins, keep the streak
Every session is logged automatically with set-by-set breakdowns and calorie estimates. Finish daily challenges to earn coins, unlock accessories for Hughie, and keep your weekly streak alive.
Live demo
Watch Hughie count reps live
A real 39-second tracking session, unedited: the phone propped up, push-ups counted rep by rep as they happen, and the count called out loud while Hughie cheers. This is exactly what you see when you start a live session — no tapping, no wearables, nothing to set up beyond standing where the camera can see you.
- Pose landmarks lock onto your body the moment you're in frame
- The rep count climbs the instant each push-up completes — announced out loud
- Set timer, rep goal, and calorie estimate tracked live, then saved automatically

Questions people ask before downloading
Is there an app that counts push-ups automatically?
Yes. Hughie uses AI pose detection through your phone's front camera to count push-ups — plus knee and wide variants — in real time. Prop your phone up, get in position, and every rep is counted and logged with no tapping and no wearables. Learn more →
How does camera rep counting actually work?
Hughie runs on-device pose detection that maps landmarks across your body — shoulders, elbows, hips, knees — and follows your movement to count each rep, announcing it out loud. If a set ever counts wrong, you can tap it on the summary and correct it before saving. Learn more →
Is camera-based workout tracking private?
Yes. All pose detection happens on your device. Your camera feed is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere — only your rep counts and workout stats are saved. Learn more →
Which exercises can Hughie track live?
15 exercises — 13 counted rep by rep, 2 timed holds (planks and wall sits). Beginner: jumping jacks, squats, knee push-ups, side lunges, side bends, knee-to-elbow, planks, and wall sits. Intermediate adds push-ups, sumo squats, split squats, and high knees. Advanced adds wide push-ups, squat jumps, and knee tuck jumps. Everything else can be logged manually. Learn more →
Can AI make me a workout plan for free?
You get one free AI-generated program to try — tell it your goal and experience level and it builds a structured plan you can follow with live tracking. Beyond that first program, the AI builder, AI chat, and post-workout summaries are Pro features. Learn more →
Is there an app like Finch, but for working out?
That's Hughie. A puppy companion counts, cheers, and celebrates your workouts: complete daily challenges to earn coins and unlock accessories to dress him up — while the camera counts your actual reps. Learn more →
Do I need equipment or a gym?
No. Every tracked exercise is bodyweight-only. All you need is your phone propped where the camera can see your whole body, enough floor to move, and decent lighting. Learn more →
